How To Make TODAY Perfect (Hint: It Already IS!)

How will you spend your TODAY?

Today is Monday (where I am). That’s a fact! Today is a perfect day. That’s also a fact.

Is our situation necessarily perfect? Perhaps not, but let’s not allow our situation, nor our perception of it, to cause us to lose sight of the beautiful opportunity Today presents for us to take a step or two towards making our situation better!

Being alive TODAY gives us a perfect chance to start afresh and redouble our efforts in pursuit of the changes we seek. So let us take a moment to change our perspective and see the beautiful individual we are, with all the potential within us to accomplish whatever we set out to achieve today.

Let us embrace the changes that are possible within us as we develop patience, persistence, and strength through our circumstances no matter how uncomfortable they are.

The presence of clouds doesn’t mean the sun isn’t there

Through the dark, stationary clouds of life burst majestic, golden rays of sunlight

Forcefully and enthusiastically breaking free and echoing shouts of joy,

Heralding the long awaited approach of a brand new sun of opportunity

Within the magnificent castles of these golden rays of sunlight

Grand festivities accompany a jubilant celebration

All around, resplendent flowers display their radiance as they lift their heads

In an attempt to witness such a grand occasion

The exuberant trees dance about, wrapping their muscular trunks

Around each other in an affectionate embrace

Never to be pulled apart again by even the most turbulent storm that may return

All creatures, great and small, co-exist in an atmosphere

Of glorious peace and tranquility – all of them are equal

No predator, no prey, no fighting and tearing each other apart

Just…equal

And somewhere in the midst of it all, an amazing spectacle bursts into miraculous existence

Men, women and children of every race, class and creed

Living together in love and in a spirit of unity never witnessed before

While outside the walls of this magnificent castle someone looks in

At the long awaited peace that exists among all of creation

In the midst of the turmoil and the disruptions all around us, there is HOPE

Slowly he walks away with a feeling of emptiness and a longing deep inside his very being

Still having hope, but recognizing that for now it is just his imagination

Running away.

Life = Renewal

Embrace life and all that it offers

Great things can happen when someone is alive!

Yes – life sometimes throws us many curve balls. Sometimes they come when we are at the peak of our prowess, whether it be in business, sports, or Academia. Bad things happen.

BUT…how can we get beyond them? How can we move along when the odds are so stacked against us? How can we begin to pick up the pieces?

Being alive provides all the evidence we need. Yes we sometimes need encouragement from others; we might need physical, emotional and material support … lots of it. But one thing is certain: Life provides the opportunity for renewal. It provides the opportunity for restoration. It provides opportunity for us to harness the indomitable spirit that is deep within us, and which can provide the impetus we need to achieve great things.

Things might not be the way we want; our circumstances might not allow us to enjoy the things we dream of. Nevertheless life always provides us with a promise of hope. Life provides the opportunity for Renewal!

We might not see a way out, nor through, nor over, nor around, but if we believe in our strength and our capacity to overcome; if we see being alive as a demonstration of the endless possibilities that are there to be attained; and above all if we place our faith and confidence in the One who promises to never leave us nor forsake us, then we certainly will NOT go under.

Celebrate being alive, and make the most of it.

Another journey across the earth begun
As a new day dawns with the rising sun
Bursting forth in resplendent glory
Once again echoing the amazing story
To every tongue, every tribe and nation
That Hope rises…again

In the midst of the sadness and the gloom
Another beautiful flower starts to bloom
And you know beyond any shadow of doubt
No matter what you are feeling ‘sad’ about
That this is yet another indication
That Hope rises…again

Though your heart is filled with pain
And your tears seem to flow like rain
Hovering above the lush green fields that grow
Beyond the hills you can see the rainbow
Providing yet another demonstration
That Hope rises…again

Consider the fishes in the seas as they swim
The birds in the air as they dance and sing
Every single aspect of God’s wondrous creation
He made you more special than each and every one
Exult at the thought, bask in the realization
That HOPE RISES…AGAIN!
